The Executive Director of Oxford Winter House will utilize a trauma-informed approach to oversee the day-to-day operation of the Oxford winter shelter.

| Supervises: | Staff of the Oxford Winter House |
| Begin/end dates: | mid-October, 2026 – mid-March, 2027 |
| Salary Range | $25,000 – $32,000 (5 months) depending on related experience |
Administration and Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Reviews existing policies and makes changes as needed with approval of the board.
- Ensures accurate and confidential client and organization records, files, and reports.
- Regularly apprises the board of progress, critical issues, status of shelter operations.
Community Awareness and Fundraising:
- Serves as the face of Oxford Winter House in the community.
- Attends community events, gives presentations as requested by community groups or by the board.
- Participates in fund-raising
- Helps with education of the community as needed
Development of Partnerships with Direct Service Providers across the city and county
- Builds and maintains relationships with community partners: social, health, mental health services and government agencies at local and county level.
- Develops relationships with community service providers to ensure guests are provided with all available related services.
Supervision of paid staff and volunteers:
- Trains, supervises, monitors, mentors, schedules, and evaluates daily/nightly staff to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter.
- Fills in for staff as needed.
- Informs the board of hiring/termination recommendations as well as critical personnel situations (all hiring/firing decisions are made by the board).
- Works collaboratively with volunteers and board members.
- Ensures all policies are followed by staff, volunteers and guests.
Facility, payroll and budgeting:
- In collaboration with the board, establishes and maintains a budget and spending process to ensure fiscally sound operations.
- Ensures the facility is safe, clean, well-maintained following all safety, hygiene and fire requirements.
- Conducts regular safety inspections, ensures all security measures are followed.
- Coordinates essential maintenance services.
- Maintains inventory and supply of shelter supplies.
Conducts/completes other duties as assigned.
Required skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher desired, or extensive related experience.
- Understands and can implement a trauma-informed environment.
- Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention.
- Supervisory experience in a related setting.
- Demonstrated administrative skills.
- Experience with homelessness, substance use disorder and/or mental health needs populations
- CPR/AED, first aid and Narcan administration certified, otherwise to be completed on the job.
